Monday, April 27, 2009 -- Talk about a mind-blowing line-up. Slayer and Megadeth - two of the bands that defined the thrash/metal genre - will perform together for the first time in more than 15 years when they co-headline four shows in Canada in late June. The tour, dubbed "Canadian Carnage," will also feature Machine Head and Suicide Silence, and will see Megadeth and Slayer each closing two of the four shows. Tickets will go on sale Saturday, May 2, and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets and at Ticketmaster online.

Fuckin right. I don't like Machine Head, but whatever.

I also just found out that the concert only has 4 stops, all of which are in Canada, but none of them in my area.

Vancouver
Edmonton
Calgary
Winnipeg

No Heavy MTL and now no Megadeth...

I'm surprised since Slayer has anti Christian lyrics and Dave is a Christian considering the stink surrounding that festival that was featuring Rotting Christ years ago.

Yeah. And some of Slayer's lyrics seem quite pro-Christian to me. Fo'eggs, Silent Scream is quite clearly anti-abortion.

I don't think Silent Scream is really pro or anti abortion. It's just "about" abortion.

Anyway, two of my favorite bands joining forces (Machine Head's no slouch, either). This definitely sounds like it would be a great show.

Quote:
Silent Scream
Bury the unwanted child.
Beaten and torn
Sacrifice the unborn.

Shattered, adolescent
Bearer of no name.

Restrained, insane games
Suffer the children condemned.

Scattered, remnants of life,
Murder a time to die.

Pain, sufferaged toyed,
Life's little fragments destroyed.

It certainly doesn't look at the positive side.

I suppose, considering that Tom wrote the lyrics, the song could be pro-life (let alone how gruesome they are). Much like comparing Greg and Brett's lyrics (in Bad Religion), it's interesting to compare Tom and King's lyrics in Slayer. Kerry King (who, according to Wikipedia, is an atheist - although I've seen some sources claim he's Jewish) typically writes Slayer's anti-religion tyrades and pseudo-satanic lyrics. While Araya typically sticks to topics like war, politics, and serial killers.

I think it probably takes about 8 hours to drive from one end of Britian to the other haha. If you're speeding, like.

Well, doesn't look at it in a very balanced light, let's say. Abortion.

For Switzerland 3 hours if you're going north-south, 4 hours if east-west.

Well Britian top to bottom you do include Scotland, you could do England in 3 and a half to 4 hours I reckon.
