Post subject: New Music Download: Triphammer (Old Local Band)
PostPosted: Mon Jan 09, 2006 6:21 am
Wow. I stumbled across this on MySpace. Triphammer were a band I used to see live all the time like 15 years ago, as far as I knew they never released anything, but I remember that I always thought they kicked ass. It seemed like every month they were doing shows with Mucky Pup, Wargasm, or XXL (another kick ass local band), or all three. This brings back some memories (though I don't actually recall any of these songs).

Anyway, they were a thrash band for the most part, but had some melodic metal tendencies, even some hardcore. Great band back then, and these songs are pretty damn cool. I'm going to have to get that Remasters CD quick! The first two tracks are from the demo they released when I used to see them, around 1991–1992, the last two songs are from an unreleased demo and they sound a bit like Sacred Reich and Armored Saint meets Biohazard, or something.

LISTEN TO TRACKS HERE!

Sorry dude but this is bad. Not for me. There are too many breakdowns to be considered thrash, and there is no speeeeeed. The vocals don't say much for the band either.

Even the first two songs? The last two were definitely different, but I thought the first two were pretty badass. It's funny, I saw a band a while back called Triphammer and they were all hardcore, I never even thought for a second it might be the same band, but I think it might be. Especially reading that some of them went on to form Every Second, a hardcore band that I almost tried out for as a vocalist.

They have some great riffs and song structures. Nothing bad about them.
