Some of there antics are a bit much and they are far away from black metal but they are quite enjoyable. I think their softer sections are the best parts of the music.

actually i never saw what all the fuss is about. i listened to "choronzon" and it's nothing out of this world.

ah well, to each their own.

I downloaded their whole discography and listened to one of the albums. It just sounds BAD to me. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, I DONT LIKE IT. maybe i'll give it another shot though.

It's ok to plain not like something. Opeth fans surely realize that reasoned, intelligent metal fans can simply not like their music, right? :)

I think the Opeth fans don't like it when these reasoned, intelligent metal fans go out of their way to bad-mouth Opeth whenever they come up. I could name names, but we're all adults here... :roll:
