It's decent, but not as good as the old version. Shaggy's vox are lame.

As in they sound like Death Cult and don't fit, or as in he tries to sound like Stormblast and fails?

From what i've heard of it, which is about half, it's a fucking travesty. The original is the best work they've ever done and they fucked it all up. The clean production takes the whole atmosphere away, and in Symphonic Black atmosphere is everything. Maybe Shaggy should stick to collaborating with Norwegian Rap artists and stop soiling what little credibility this band has left. Plus, it's not even the same line-up, so what's the point?

As in he's still using those uber-shite vocal effects. Whoever told him those where a good idea lied to his ass.

Ditto.

By the way, Skullthrone, where did you hear it? I've been checking DC++ lately, but nothing new there yet.
(I fucking despise dowloading, but I fucking despise this attempt to cash in on their best album by fucking it up to please their new kiddy fanbase way more; my money is being spent on much more worthy material, thank you very much.)

yup... Dimmu Borgir plays nothing but child friendly "black metal"... and what do you do when you want to make mainstream music?!?... you make catchy and easy music that most people can understand (and by easy music i mean, music you don't have to sit down and take your time trying to understand, which most ppl want to avoid)... thus music without any depth and therefore very un-worthy, imo....

Is he actually any good without them?

I've not heard any old Dimmy.

Yeah, he's Okay without them, nothing special really. It should be noted that on the first E.P. an then the first album "For All Tid", Silenoz the long-running guitarist, did the vocals and Shaggy played the drums. Silenoz did a much better job, but doesn't speak English very well, so when they stopped singing in Norwegian Shaggy took over and it's all been downhill from there.

Soulseek. I found it to be a waste of Hard Drive space though.

Not black metal at all. If I owned this stormblast remix I'd file in alt. metal next stuff like System of a Down.

sometimes you have to be cruel to be.. well, just to be harsh 8)
