Best record they've done since Demigod.

Anyone else heard it yet?

I'm very much looking forward to this album. If it really is the best record they've done since Demigod then I'll be pleasantly impressed. I don't want to hear any of it until I have a physical copy in my hand.

It's a lot darker (more black metal?) than anything they've done for some time.

Way more stripped down. Lacks the epicness, but I felt they were trying to do too much of that with the past 2 records.

Will share my thoughts after I'm done ripping it from Soulseek.

I'm not going to waste my money on it, since Evangelion was a piece of shit and The Apostasy was mediocre.

No way it totally has epic moments from the beginning of the album and then the last two tracks specifically. If I gave it a quick listen, I could probably point towards more where they slow it down and just groove in their weird ritualistic way.

Good point.

I'd actually like to re-word my initial statement and say that it lacks the failed attempts to sound "epic" and bombastic and instead actually IS BOMBASTIC and EPIC.

The shit the past 2 albums was the definition of "oh we're going for this bombastic, epic sound." This time it actually delivers.

Long live Nergal.

I have given this album several plays. It is nothing like what Behemoth has created before. However, by no means a bad album, Behemoth has a fair bit way to go to develop the new direction they have chosen. It is still immature and developing. I would give it around a 72.
