Enslaved was boring as shit compared to Dimmu Borgir live though.

I saw that same tour .. and Enslaved were more than passable for an opening act. If you had looked around, you would have noticed many people really "in" to the music which kind of implies they don't need a cheesy stage show to make up for a lack of anything else ..

I didn't think they were that good live. They're a record band if you ask me not a live show band.

I didn't think Dimmu's stage presence was cheesy at all other than when the smoke machine set the fire alarm off right when they started "Dimmu Borgir".

Enslaved was more like an Opeth-like stage presence, just letting the music soak in. I think they could use more banter between songs, but that's all I'd change.

Dimmu musically suck hard, but as a live show they are pretty good. The Marquee went nuts when they played Progenies

I said BLT, partly because it was my first Enslaved and viking/black experience, which blew my mind at the time, but also because IMO there are no filler songs, and each song has a unique flavour, but it all flows together so well taken as a whole.

I'd probably say Vertebrae was second - that album also has a nice overall cohesiveness/flow.
