How great is this album to you? I fucking love it.

Repined Bastard nation is such a sick song.

Reasonably great. Easily beats N, D for me, but falls a long way behind Rebel Eggs. And Angstridden and Possessed are the best songs, imo.

It's got Black Lava on it, so it's made of pure win. But less so than Rebel Extravaganza, of course.

Can I just put it out there that Rebel Extravaganza is the best thing they've done?

It's certainly my favourite of theirs for Tied In Bronze Chains alone, but (despite having brilliant points in its favour like Havoc Vulture and Filthgrinder) I'd have to give Nemesis D. another try before proclaiming it the absolute best.

I just found out Frost played on Ad Majorem Gloriam Sathanas from Gorgoroth, I always thought it was Kvitrafn.

thanks metal archives

Some of the tracks on that are unstoppable forces, but not all of them.

I'm still partial to Dark Medieval Times, but all of the first four albums have several brilliant moments.

Volcano has Black Lava, at least.

Yup. And we are rather few in thinking that.

I've only listened to Rebel Extravaganza like once a long time ago. I'll have to get it.

My album right now is Gorgoroth- Twilight of the Idols. Big step above the former Incipit Satan.

This album got me into extreme metal actually... I haven't really been on here in awhile and I'm actually listening to this album right now, only to open the forum and see this thread. I remember the first time I heard this album and when it got to Black Lava... I immediately went and listened to some more Black Metal. when that song was over. What a finisher that was! I was amazed, really. I had heard extreme metal before but never thought much besides "Oh, this isn't so bad." I read about this album being a sort of "sell out" album, and that it was mainstream with good production and accessible. I ended up on it purely because I liked the cover and decided to go with it despite what I read when I found it. Good stuff! Not close to my favorite BM album but I still enjoy it.

Rebel is a must have. You should really just get all their albums. The only marginally disappointing one to me is KING.

I love Volcano and it's probably one of my favorite Satyricon albums. Up there with Rebel for sure.

yeah rebel is the only one that I haven't really listened to. I've listened to the new two a ton as well as dark medieval and shadowthrone and nemesis quite a bit.
