Bear with me.

I got into thrash in a roundabout way. I've listened to plenty now, thank you, but in high school I was way more into melodic death metal than I was the thrash, and as such I was exposed to the covers of some thrash songs before the originals.

And I think these covers rip. Does anyone know any thrash bands that are playing original music with similar production (guitar tone, etc.)/vocal styles as these mdm covers here? Melodic death/thrash, maybe?

Those are terrible. That is like the exact opposite of what Sacred Reich was going for.

I don't think there are any, man... And I listen to a lot of melodic death metal.

I mean I could give you a dozen bands that sound like At The Gates. lol

Yeah, definitely check out The Crown. And Sylosis, which is thrashy melodeath with a small bit of metalcore mixed in.

Agree with The Crown recommendation. Deathrace King is a fantastic record. Their other stuff's good too. I dunno if Desultory will fit in since I have listened only to Bitterness by them.

Yeah, I know the Crown, but I'll check the others out.
