Because of the 95/100 review for Epic, I eventually bought this album. It's great. Anything else by these guys work buying and or reviewing???

I really like Empiricism but nobody else will I think. I think everybody dislikes The Genuine Pulse but I love it. And Quintessence.

wtf are you talking about Trapt, Empiricism is all kinds of awesome. It's probably my favorite Borknagar album.

I've got Empiricism, Epic, Quintessence, and The Archaic Course, and all are great. I love their style.

I didn't like them as much after I saw them live, but I don't mind them. I don't think they are mindblowing.

Old Borknagar, the first three albums, are great. After that it quickly became bland, especially since Vintersorg took over with his harrowing overdub vocals. I've heard notions of the new one, but it didn't strike me as a return to form.

This. I think the people 'hating' on Borknagar are the ones that remember and love 'The Olden Domain" and never quite warmed up to the Vintersorg era.

I never really got the whole Borknagar thing, honestly. Have tried numerous times, numerous different albums. I don't get it.

I only ever bothered to get The Olden Domain, and even that didn't strike me as that mindblowing.

The only song I really really fucking liked was the piano interlude :lol:

Try the first album. Very raw but with some fantastic little melodies.
