I have not heard it, nor do I plan on downloading it. I will buy it upon release. But I thought I would share the news...

this is what a poster at MA had to say about it:

Quote:
I'm not a big fan of death metal, but to me Vader is one of the few death metal bands that kicks major fucking ass. The new album 'Necropolis' has leaked, and I must say that Vader has done a solid strike once again. In my opinion, the last album 'Impressions in Blood' was good, but it didn't have many memorable riffs, but they have made up for that on 'Necropolis'. They haven't gone to any new direction, instead they chose to stick to their guns and kick out the same old jams. This may be bad for some, but to me Vader kicks ass anyways.

The song that sticks out on first listen is 'Impure'. That song just has a badass vibe that makes me want to go out and kick someone's ass. Though I must admit it sounds alot like the song 'Backbone' by Gojira.

thoughts?

First listen was a bit boring really. It is practically the same album as the one before it. So I was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it will grow on me.

I must admit, I can kind of imagine this without bothering to listen to it. I wish they'd mix it up a little.

Vader is to death metal what Darkthrone was to black metal before the latter released The Cult Is Alive. I haven't bothered with Vader since The Beast, which often made me burst out in laughter ("Spectral bicycles...speed and riiiide").

I've got NNU, something tells me that's all I need.

I've got this baby pre-ordered.Take my opinion with a grain of salt as I am a fan,but I think its a solid release.Similar to Impressions but production is a bit thiner, also the songwriting is more straightforward.A fun album, don't expect the second coming and you'll have a good time, but it gets old listening to people demand revolution and suprises with every damn band.I'm thankful such an old dog still has its fangs, making alright death metal.Nothing more nothing less.I mention it alot but its a shame Vogg didn't throw in some solos or riffs, but its ok.Good to hear decapitated is coming together again. :dio:

I have not heard anything yet, but from what most people are saying, I am sure that I will like it.

When it comes to Vader, I want fast thrashy death metal with blastbeats, and it seems Vader delivered just that.

I pre-orderd it, and will have to wait until next month for my final opinion.

I haven't heard it yet, but I'll definitely be picking it up. I felt the same way as that poster on MA about Impressions, and from what I've heard from most Vader fans I know this is much better so I'm definitely curious to hear it. I doubt we'll get another Litany, De Profundis or Ultimate Incantation but that's fine by me as long as they deliver their typical fare.

It's an ok album, nothing earthshaking, a bit monotonous maybe, but still solid. When the Sun Drowns in Dark is a tremendous song though. And their Black Metal cover is simply great.
