for me Slayer will always be seconded to Kreator, Kreator had their times of experimentation with gothic and electronica elements but they still made actual metal while Slayer went to absolute shit.
Not to mention as legendary as Reign in blood is it doesnt have the intensity of Pleasure to Kill.

As for Bay Area thrash I don't think it has the same intensity of German thrash or the same element of musicianship.
So it doesn't have my vote.

I chose Bay Area over Germany.

That's why :
Blind Illusion, Death Angel, Exodus, Forbidden, Heathen, Metallica,
Testament, Vio-lence, etc.
