but you know what man, if you really do like VON, i respect that, I can definitley see someone liking them, the feeling that they have. I just never could get into them but I mean music for me is all about how it feels the vibe it gives I guess for me and VON definitley does have a very distinct feel.

It's cool... the funny thing about VON is they are so polarizing.
I was more curious about how others received them than espousing them.
I'll whip out Satainc Blood every once in awhile, though it's not by any means a favorite. Still, it has something... different about it.
I hear it referred to as proto-black metal by a lot of people.
It's also claimed that they were not a serious act, which makes it even more interesting, because the vibe, as you put it, is unmistakenly malevolent.

You misspelled poseur.
Opinions are like assholes, and so are some people.
Didn't you recently convert to rap?
'nuff said.

Did I recently convert to rap? What hahahhahahah

I've been listening to a lot of everything recently man. A lot of King Crimson, Gong, Rush, Daevid Allen been looking for a lot of 60's and 70's psyche bands. As well as stuff like the mars volta, radiohead, you know just something of everything i dont really want to go into it further, but thats where i've been at.

I just started getting into other genres as well man, and I had been listening to a shit load of basically only metal for 4 or 5 years and to be honest nothing new good was coming out, and while i still dug the classics I just needed something fresher and I was definitley enjoying what was happening with other bands not related in the metal genre. So I started to lose interest in metal for a while.

Weird, for some reason I thought you were into rap... my mistake.

Truth be told, I rarely listen to metal these days myself; it comes in waves.
When you say Psych from the 60s and 70s who are referring to?
For a more modern trance style of music, I've been listening to stuff like Psychonaut 75.
I have been listening to a lot of Psychobilly and old Deathrock more than anything else.
I'm nothing if not a sucker for a bone-rattling stand-up bass.

Cheers!

I like VON much more that I wan't to admit... Which means: Sometimes I am listening to Satanic Blood thinking "What the fuck is the reason that I dig this so much... The drums actually awful and the echobox is way overdone several times on the record.. But it's working for me" Other times I simply put love them. Even though the 'objective quality' () is low, they fucking slay! Which is quite an accomplishment in itself... In conclusion: VON rules.

I have some of those bands you listed. I really like bauhaus, Christian death, the damned, and Uk decay. I also danse society and the cure, even though they only qualify some of the time. I like the misfits as far as the horror punk go. That is a good place to start for me. thanks allot.

Any time, man...
Another good (though by-the-numbers) band is Dead Rose's Garden. Nothing that sets them apart but there sound is very good and gloomy.
Happy listening!
