First things first, leee piss off.

Now that that is out of the way, Exciter will be releasing their new cd in early 2007! This is awesome news, the album will be called Thrash Speed Burn. This will also be their first album with new singer Kenny Winter, and their first all original album in 8 years. Their last album was called Blood of Tyrants which came out in 1999.

What are your thoughts?

This Winter guy has got some massive shoes to fill.

I haven't heard much latter-day Exciter, but a good comeback album would be a nice wee bonus.

Dude, I could care less if the members of Exciter found a cure for cancer, much less if they dragged their old asses into a studio and made something even lamer then Heavy Metal Maniac.

Thrash Speed Burn? WTF? Well that makes my song Thrash n Burn completely redundant even though I bet i wrote it before they did, just because they can get into a studio the bellends.

Yeah, that's a stupid title. But I think this will be a good cd. And at least we know it's going to be thrash! :dio:

So the album is not coming out in early 2007. Or it would already be out. They hope to have it out at the end of the year.

Quote:
MetalDogma.com: So, Exciter just got done going through a pretty drastic change again with the departure of singer, Joseph Paul Jacques Belanger. This isn't the first time that he has left the band. Was he asked to leave the band or was this something that he decided to do on his own?

Cohen: "The parting of ways mutual. There is no ill-will on either side. We just didn't see eye to eye on a number of important issues."

MetalDogma.com: With this being the second time that he has left the band, did you see this coming? Were there signs that made you think that he was going to be departing again?

Cohen: "Actually, this is the third time Jacques has split with the band. Personally, I didn't see it coming."

MetalDogma.com: Let's talk about the bands new singer, Kenny "Metal Mouth" Winter. How did you come to find him?

Cohen: "When we put out the word that we were looking for a new singer, Kenny was one of the guys that got in touch with us."

MetalDogma.com: Can you tell us about the first meeting or the first rehearsal with "Metal Mouth"?

Cohen: "The first thing Kenny did when he entered the room was crack a joke. All of us hit it off right away. Then we jammed and he really blew us away with his singing. We're really looking forward to playing live and recording with him!!"

MetalDogma.com: Of course, the band is working on the much anticipated new album! Can you tell us something about the new album (album title, songs, etc)?
Cohen: "The title of new disc will be Thrash Speed Burn. We have ten new barn-burning tunes ready to go. The track listing (in no particular order) is:

'Thrash Speed Burn', 'In Mortal Fear' (a live performance of which is featured on the Bang Your Head Festival 10th Anniversary DVD), 'Crucifixion', 'Evil Omen', 'Rot The Devil King', 'Massacre Mountain', 'Hangman', 'Demon's Gate', 'The Punisher', 'Betrayal'.

MetalDogma.com: How did the recording of the album go with the new frontman? Were there any things that the band did different this time around?

Cohen: "With the departure of Jacques, our recording schedule got pushed back. We have also recently parted ways with Osmose Productions, so we haven't actually recorded the CD yet. We're hoping to get that done within the next few months and have the CD out before the end of the year."

EDIT: Those song titles sound pretty kick ass.

If you heard his singing on the Beehler demo he put out with Alan Johnston a couple of years back you, wouldn't care. His voice is totally shot.

Didn't Dan do the vocals for Heavy Metal Maniac on the new Annihilator album? Because if he did, it sounds awesome. And he can definitely still sing.

Yeah he can still carry a tune, but he can't shriek anymore. And whats the point of Exciter without shrieky vocals?
