I'm thinking of getting into Deathspell Omega, and I didn't like what I heard off the releases with the original singer, but I liked a track I heard of Kenose. So I'm thinking of getting a full-length, as Kenose is a bit overpriced considering I downloaded part 3 off Southern Lord. I've heard more good things about SMRC, but I think I might find it too long and gruelling for my first DSO release. So which would you recommend? I'm ordering the winner tomorrow as my weekly CD fix.

I'd go for Fas, personally, because it's the only one I have. They're the type of band you could listen to forever, deep stuff.

You should really get both. But I'd go with SMRC because it's better. By better I mean SMRC is a 98 and FAS is a 96. Don't worry about the length, it will suck you into a trance and you won't know how time passed.

But really, get fas and kenose too.

SMRC mainly because it is easier to get into than Fas... and personally I think that SMRC is better.

I'd get SMRC, its entertaining all the way through despite its length and I've listened to FAS a handful of times and don't really like it :P

I just started getting into DsO and I kind of like Fas better. Either CD would be a great purchase though.

I would, but I've already got a track off it, and I don't want to pay a lot of money for two tracks. Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas.

Kenose works beautifully as a whole. Definitely more than the sum of its parts.

Yeah. Those 2 tracks make 30+ minutes anyway.
