This is album is... strange. I wasn't expecting the follow-up to DMDS of course, that would have been silly, but in a strange way this is the first Mayhem album that really sounds written by a band beset by tragedy, so in a way, it totally sounds like the follow up to DMDS.

It sounds very much like the songs could have been written in the same time period as DMDS. I consider this album to be on par with it. I imagine that you could convince someone who didn't know otherwise that this one came out in '95

Mayhem never amazed me but this new album is atmospheric and also kind of experimental, me likes a lot!
