I've been listening to With Vilest of Worms to Dwell since I first got into this band a few months ago, and I was wondering if you guys knew of any other bands similar to them, most specifically at their more menacing, like in Lords of Bedlam.

I'm sure I'm already listening to some you might suggest, but don't hold back a suggestion because it seems obvious. Thanks.

Well, Hollenthon is a pretty unique band, but one can mention: Misanthrope, Opera IX, Septic Flesh (Sumerian Daemon), Collapse.7 and Golden Dawn (with members of Hollenthon but the quality of the music isn't near to Hollenthon) but on the other hand I have only heard a few tracks here and there. And have yet heard Hollenthon's Domvs Mvndi?

Cool, I'll look into those, thanks man.

I haven't sat down and listened to Domvs Mvndi, just heard some of it here and there since my brother listens to it sometimes. It doesn't capture me quite the way WVOWTD does, but I still will definitely try to get into it properly sometime.

Yes, Domvs Mvndi is an album very dark yet melodic but WVOWTD has raised up the song writing altogether.

Wyrd's - Heathen album has an epic vibe like that, not the same, the production etc, but just a sprawling epic vibe. Morrigans - Headcult does that to me as well.

With vilest of worms is cool.

Love the shit out of Hollenthon. Sadly, I've never heard anything else like it.

I got ahold of Masquerade by Golden Dawn and it's great, like you said not quite Hollenthon but I love it already. I just wish that they would silence the one annoying vocalist. They have four, they can spare the one. He must be the main songwriter or something..

Misanthrope was also cool. Septic Flesh I'm still attempting to get into, Revolution DNA didn't do much for me but Sumerian Daemons seemed like a whole different thing from the track I heard so I still need to hear the rest of that.

Thanks for the recommendations man.

Well, I'm glad, a pleasure. Yes, Sumerian Daemons has matured a lot, Atmospheric Death Metal is what one can call it. I think I have to get an album from Golden Dawn as well.
