I hear lots of bad things about how commercial (in the ripping you off sense, not the bands) Wacken has become.

Ripping you off, in what sense?

The fact that 4 of my favourite bands (Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, In Flames and Nightwish) are supposed to be there, how would i get ripped off? ... when would i ever get the chance to see all 4 in one day (or 2-3, whatever it lasts).

ciao

No, I think he means in the sense of charging a King's Ransom for food, water, and other essentials while you are there.

Bingo. A dude I know from Sweden Rock who writes on revelationz.net recently did a report on Wacken '06 and some of the stuff sounded very unsavoury. Charging people to use the toilets? Inhuman.
