I was listening to the former yesterday, and it struck me that for all people say that Painkiller is Teh Best Metal Album Evar, TCW is actually a helluva lot better in every way. Rocks harder, songs are better, and Bruce has never sounded better. Your thoughts? Please only vote if you've heard both... And, as a sideline, are any other of BD's records worth getting? I hear bad things about them... |

Get Accident of Birth - now! Its the one before Chemical Wedding, and its stylistically very similar, although not quite as dark and a little more diverse. The newest album is a lot like Accident and CW, but nowhere near as good. The previous albums - Tattooed Millionaire is a silly hard rock album with a couple of good songs. I haven't heard Balls to Picasso. Skunkworks is a typical mid-90s post grunge album - not Metal is the slightest, but its actually quite good. some of it is very uplifting. As for Chemical Wedding vs Painkiller - apples and oranges, mate. |

Tell me, boy... who do you love more, your daddy or your mum? The 2 are great albums. I simply can't decide. Perhaps I prefer Painkiller, but the difference is so small that I choose vote for equal greatness. For the rest of the disco of Bruce, Accident of birth is a must-have. Tattoed millionare has 2 or 3 good songs (Son of a gun is a good opener, and one of the best Bruce songs. I remember born in 58 as good too... And Tattooed Millionaire, All tha young dudes and zulululu as some of the most horrible stuff I ever listened to). Skunkworks is grungiest, strangest, but a good album. Balls to picasso is a good album, not really something special, but with some good songs). Tyranny of souls is, imo, a weak album, not so interesting as CW or AoB, in the same style, but weakest. |

CW for me, no slight to Painkiller though. For me its just a more interesting album when you sit down to listen to it from start to finish than Painkiller is. Accident of Birth is basically in the same style as CW and is a great listen. I'm not too familiar with anything before that, but it seems like Bruce was going for more of a rock style than metal in his older stuff. While its not his best, Tyranny of Souls is still a good listen as well. Bruce Dickinson probably has one of the most underrated solo careers around. I'll take Accident of Birth and CW over any Ozzy solo album anytime. |

They are all favorite albums of mine! Skunkworks is not that metal but it's one of the best, if not the best. Balls to Picasso is awesome too, so is Accident of Birth and Tyranny, which are both as metal as Chemical Wedding. Seriously if you never buy them you miss out on some awesome music. And yes, Chemical Wedding is prolly better than Painkiller. |

Well they are very different albums. Painkiller is my favorite album of all time though. So, if made to decide, I'll go with it. |

Yikes, I don't even know where to start with this one. I have no choice but to stay neutral in this one, they are both excellent albums. They are totally different styles though, so it's not really a fair comparison. As far as Bruce's solo stuff goes, everything has already been said about Accident of Birth, just get it. If you want to hear what Iron Maiden crossed with Pink Floyd would sound like, get Balls to Picasso. Get it cheap though, there is a few stinkers on it. |

Can we dispense with the lame internet talk? Radagast is the only one that is allowed to do it because he's funny. |

Tough question, but I'll have to go with Painkiller. |

imo, Painkiller beats any other HM album, even the mighty Holy Diver. Also, imo, the best BD album has to be Balls to Picasso(Cyclops and Tears of the Dragon are some of my alltime favorites); the second best is imo Tyranny of Souls, because i like my metal albums to be short and concise; Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding are still very good, but when i listen to the former i skip the Magician and Into the Pit, and i usually stop listening to the other one afterAt the Trumpets of Jericho; Tattoed Millionnaire is average, and Skunkworks is pretty enjoyable.[/img] |
