Post subject: | After Keeper of the 7 Keys |
We all know how highly regarded the Keeper albums are in Power Metal. But what about what happened in the scene after those albums. Which were the albums that came after the Keeper-albums, that in your opinion lived up to a similar standard and were almost as enjoyable? They don't have to match the genious of the Keeper-albums or anything, just live up to similar standard of songwriting. I would say the 3 first Gamma Ray albums don't qualify, although I havent listened to them that much. Neither do I think that the first two Blind Guardian albums should be considered. What are your thoughts? |

Do you mean the albums in the genre of Helloween? Well, then Gamma, Guardian, perhaps Edguy can be mentioned... But I think that you overrate Helloween a bit ;) |

That's easy. Helloween's last four Andi Deris albums. I actually prefer them to the Keeper albums. Iced Earth too (yes, I do consider IE power metal). |

Just because something originated in and is more often associated with Europe does not mean only Euro bands can be Power Metal. |
