I know X Japan is one of those bands people either love or hate, but with a song like this I don't understand how anybody could dislike them. This is 28 minutes of brilliance. If somebody had a gun to my head and said I had to pick my favorite song of all time I would choose this song. Then I'd wait for him to look confused at my choice and I'd take that split second to kick him in the left testy. After that I'd take some nails and construction adhesive and... Anyway, what do you guys think of this song or even the band. If you haven't heard this song I stroooongly recommend you check it out. Yeah there is that 8 minute piano solo which gets on a lot of people's nerves, but I think it fits perfectly. It makes the second half of the song that much more enjoyable. Plus it shows how emotional Yoshiki can get… or something. Anyway, check this song out (actually it’s an album) if you haven’t already. |

I've recently gotten into them. Blue Blood and Art of Life are the two albums I've heard. Art of Life is indeed a brilliant song, I absolutely love the piano stuff at about 17 minutes in. And off BB, the title song and Endless Rain are my favorite. Next I plan on checking out Dahlia. |

Great album, if you can call it that, really just a song. I agree that the piano solo is excellent, really fits the song. But i must say i prefer Blue blood as an album. |

Doesn't Endless Rain sound familiar? Sounds like Guns N' Roses might have got a few ideas for November Rain from that song. noodles wrote: The guys voice is so...uhh... questionable and its so melodramatic...
kind of like Coheed and Cambria Toshi's voice is one of my favorites. |

I don't really think they're that great... Dahlia is pretty cool, but I don't really like 'em much. and those big pink haircuts they had were, uh... too Mötley Crüe.... |

I would recommend that you to also "get" the live version of Art of Life (video and mp3), it's 34 minutes long with the piano solo being about 10 minutes. |

Yeah I just found the live version, and I'd say that was 34 minutes well spent. I laughed in the piano solo when he started just randomly pounding on the keyboard. Guess he got bored or something |

Yoshiki sits on the keys at one point which could explain the strange sound. Although I don't think it's out of boredom, it's part of the song. An important part (not the sitting, but the chaos) I would think. |

Yoshiki had to have some energy to play drums run play the piano solo and run back to finish up on drums. |

I'm surprised no one mentioned Vanishing Vision, their 1st album (I think). I've only heard the songs I'll kill you, Kurenai, Orgasm, Art of Life (live) and something else that was too balladesque for my taste. I love their metal sounding stuff. |

Check out X, Silent Jealousy, Rusty Nail, and WeekEnd. Those are all awesome songs. And yes, Vanishing Vision is damn good. |

Absolutely. Art of Life is excellent, my favorite release by the band. Dahlia is great too, but not quite on the same level. I think Toshi's voice sort of fit better on Dahlia though. His voice seems at odds with the beauty and sophistication of some parts of Art of Life. |

So, anyone know how someone can get their hands on Vanishing Vision on CD? Looks like it's been out of print for a long time. |
