OR even semi-powermetal pandas, Fingon, Legacy, Voice, Husker, Orion, Wanky, stuartn15ted, EYESORE, Brahm, GD (wherever you went), Stefan, even Zad. Shit new posters need to contribute more. Thanks :P

Seriously, it doesn't seem like there' much going on in the power metal world at the moment. As for me, I have only listened to 1 full new PM album this year (Persuader, which kicks some major ass, and the Blind Guardian single). I have yet to hear that Elvenking album

Anyway, here's a list of PM albums I'm looking forward to this year.

Edenbridge - The Grand Design ( a pretty average band, but they have some sparks of brilliance on every album)

New Iron Savior -(Should have been released in June according to www.metalcovenant.com but I haven't heard anything of it yet....anyway I'm looking forward for some asswhopping speed metal.)

Blind Guardian - A Twist in the Myth (no comments needed)

New Hammerfall (Their last album was a dissapointment, hopefully this one will be better)

Fairyland - The Fall of an Empire (flower metal that makes Rhapsody sound heavy. Their debut had some killer songs but also some major flaws. I'm hoping for a improvement here.

I like that list. A new Iron Savior?! That would be awesome. Also, you forgot the new Virgin Steele, another highly anticipated album.

Have you heard the new Cellador yet?

Yeah new VS looks very interesting. And fuck, I have yet to get my hands on that Cellador album. The song for the video was good and I can't wait to hear songs like Forever Unbound and No Chances Lost with proper production.

Nigga Please , Glory To The Brave and Legacy Of Kings is their best work , the rest you can keep

I agree there hasn't been a lot of power metal topics here. Enough for me to frequent the forum however. 8)
I will say that I'm one that likes to jump in and help with recommendations and reply to topics, as opposed to starting my own topics. I did start a topic requesting input on the band Manitou a few weeks back, but there wasn't a lot of replies. :(
I'm still undecided on the band BTW. :?

Anyway, I will surely continue to participate... 8)

If you need recommendations NESS, just let me know what you're looking for and I'll fire them off.

WTF? :? 8) hehehe....
There are tons of power metal CDs being released constantly... both new CDs from existing bands and plenty of new bands as well. In fact, I'm doing some organizing this weekend and did a rough count of about 50 CDs that I have not even listened to yet. Among them are the new Persuader and Cellador you guys have mentioned. 8)
BTW, we just had a large Metal CD Ratings site update that included a review for the new Persuader. Cellador will be reviewed sometime in July by one of my colleagues.

Yes, the Hamka debut is fantastic! :D
If you haven't read it already, here's my full review:

So let's see more power metal topics!! :D

The new Cellador is awesome. My favorite song is Wakening. Great album.

I haven't heard much about what's new in power metal,All I know is that bands like Stratovarius,Kamelot,Rhapsody,Judas Priest and Iced Earth are writing new material as we speak. Most of those probably won't be out until 2007 though.

There is supposed to be a new Jag Panzer album coming out soon if I'm not mistaken.

Also a new Virgin Steele album is coming soon as well can't wait for that.

Well now that you mention it, after listening to millions of power metal releases over the years (and even purchasing several millions as well :P) I came to the decision that the best power metal band ever is.... (opens the envelope)... GRAVE DIGGER!!!! RAW GERMAN POWER METAL!!! AAAAAARGGGHHHHH!!!

Seriously now, I've been listening to their entire 90's discography since morning and my perception is kinda clouded :P What can I say, I'm a Boltendahl fanboy! You have to respect a guy who's high pitched screams sound kinda like BLAAAAARRRRGGHHH!!!

Also I'm writing these lines after no less than 4 vodkas, so please bear with me :D

Yeah, I must confess that the time I spend listening to music has decreased since the time I spend playing the guitar has increased. But perhaps I should go out and get something new for a change, I feel I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm expecting the new Wintersun very much though and the new Kiuas might also be worth checking.

Last month has been slow for me. My last exam was 2 days ago and i'm planning on catching up to some new metal. I've basically been listening the same albums all month. New ETOS is great and it's rivaling for album of the year with Korpiklaani. Latest Kiuas is great too even if not as great as the debut. I've also heard the new Eidolon with Nils K. Rue on vocals but that one was a major bleh.

If there is anything i'd recommend right now is Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - Before The Bleeding Sun. It's not power metal but whatever.

I have also noticed that it has been quiet within these forums lately. Cant think of any new power metal bands, but could list a few power metal bands for you to find out about, NESS

Iron Mask- "Hordes Of The Brave" - pretty good album, a touch on the neo-classical genre, but more PM

DragonHeart- "Vengeance In Black" - PM from Brazil. Its this band's 2nd album. Pretty decent too

Guardians Of Time- "Machines Of Mental Design" - Been out for a while now, but pretty good PM from Italy. Probably their best album to date.

I bought Guild Wars, so thats been stealing most of my time off.

When I am listening to music though, Ive been killing both Freternia and Demonlord this past week, people need to check out and worship both these bands.

I actually already own an Iron Mask. Decent stuff. I'll check out the other two.
