King Diamond have finished recording the drums, bass and rhythm guitars for their upcoming album, tentatively due in early 2007. The follow-up to 2003's "The Puppet Master" will contain 13 tracks (including an intro), five of which were written by the band's guitarist Andy La Rocque. Frontman King Diamond will soon begin writing the lyrics for the album, which is being recorded in Dallas, Texas and at Los Angered Recording (owned by La Rocque) in Gothenburg, Sweden.

These should be a real interesting one. I can never seem to get tired of Mercyful Fate or King Diamond. Not the voice though, I'm talking bout the music in overall. I love the part in Black Funeral:

Normal voice: All hail Satan!
The high falsetto: Yes hail Satan!!

'There's no presents for Christmas' isn't really a favourite of mine. But it always has a place in me because of the intro. Totally hilarious. Something unexpected from the guy who lives in a fucking creepy castle.

Black Funeral fucking owns!

I can undestand why some can't stand his voice. But I just think it's great. Tell me how many people can sing like that. He's being original. Plus, if you think further, you'll realise that his singing is very emotional and flamboyant. It gives the songs an extra edge. He is like being the persona in the song itself. Not many can do that.

It took me a while to get into his voice. I recommend just putting a Mercyful Fate track on from time to time and I'm sure it'll grow on you. I did that and now I love his voice. It just fits.

Mercyful Fate > King Diamond

That said, this is indeed good news.
