I purchased it last week with pretty low expectations, and this album really impressed me( read : it kicked my fuckin' butt). I think it's up there with Last in Line and Holy Diver. What do you fuckers think about it?

Yeah, I didn't like it. Goldie plays guitar on it right? They lost me here. Sacrad Heart started showing slippin and this one confirmed it.

I just think when Vivian Campbell left Dio it was never the same again.

Strange. Vivian and Craig very much sound the same to me. If someone told me that the guitarist on Dream Evil was Vivian i would have believe him...

Yeah but the songs and flow changed. At least to me. Goldi wanked to much I think too but is cool.

Dream Evil is a good album, but nothing too special.

It goes:

1 Holy Diver/Last in Line
2 Sacred Heart/Dream Evil

3 Everything else (ups and downs)

It's okay. I pop it in from time to time, but I miss the speed of the first two albums. It mires itself in the mid-tempo area. Songwriting wise it's still very good, but more variation in song types would have helped.

It has some fast songs actually(Night People, Overlove, Faces in the Window); and it has All the Fools Sail Away...what a great epic song!

Same level of variation in song types as HD and LIL if you ask me.
