I prefer Otyg's version.

At the risk of being banned and having my credit rating ruined, I will just say. Bands like KSE shouldn't cover DIO songs, it is just wrong.

Hrmm pretty odd choice for a cover I'd say. Everytime I here this song I think of the Dio parody that Soth Park had. I guess it's alright. When will these bastards have a new album out?

Before I listened to this, I imagined what it would sound like.

Upon playing, it sounds just like that. Jonesy's voice fits, they should do more stuff like this.

Ya.... I'm going to stick with the Dio version. The guitars in this one.... Jones sounds good, though. Oh man, they completely butchered the "between the velvet lies" part.

For the most part a surprisingly good cover.

This was a specially recorded song for a Kerrang! CD. It was likely recorded on some portable unit on tour real quick. Sounds like it anyway.

Yeah, I heard this earlier. Howard could definitely be a power metal vocalist.

Have you heard him live? Let's put it this way, when he joined Killswitch he'd never sung before, he was a screamer. If you hear them live his vocals are so processed it sound completely unatural! He's getting help with modern technology because I'd bet while he may be able to sing now, his voice just isn't strong enough to to hold its own without help.

Well, I am watching a live video right now, and the vocals suck there to.

On the subject of strange covers, I heard Dillinger Escape Plan is coming out with a cover EP that includes:

Soundgarden's "Jesus Christ Pose"
Massive Attack's "Angel"
NIN's "Wish"

and...and...get ready for it

"Like I Love You" by Justin Timberlake

Seriously, didn't these fuckers learn anything from Children of Bodom?

"Jesus Christ Pose" is on their myspace page and it's fucking terrible. Between The Buried And Me are doing the same thing and each cover I've heard has been simply horrendous!

Yeah, I heard that myspace clip too. If they do that to "Angel", I may just have to plan a beatdown when they open up for Coheed and Cambria here.

I'm predicting in advance that their lead singer could take you.

I had hopes for the between the buried and me cover album, because their songwriting is where they generally fall short, but it was really quite boring because they didn't add anything to the songs.

While were speaking of covers, Arsis's cover of "Roses on white lace" was pretty fucking awesome. It also fit in with the concept of the EP too which was pretty cool.

By the way, I only heard the clip earlier. I just listened to the whole song a few times. This definitely sounds like a demo, but I really like what they did with the cover. I think a properly recorded version would be killer. I also think Howard shouldn't have tried to go up a few octaves before the solo, it sounded off. Overall, though, far better than I expected after reading all these replies.
