Went back and listened to this debut the Isle of the Hydra. This is seriously a slick piece of True Power/Epic Metal. This thing almost hinges on perfection in the realm of true underground. WOW! People look this thing up it just speaks Metal in every note! I forgot how good this thing was. Netherworlds (3rd release) to be released in the next couple of months according to the website. Other bands in this Vien could be Wotan Domine Holy Martyr Martiria Stormrider http://www.twistedtowerdire.com/ Speaking of Holy Martyr does anyone have any of their stuff?? It seems all the Eps and self-financed stuff is sold out :( |

Ive heard the album Crest of The Martyrs, which is pretty awesome. 'At Night' is an addictive song. |

Hydra is not the debut, there's also in the Shadow of Twisted Tower Dire. They also have some demos with a female singer. Well the reason half of Crest sounds a bit like Iron Savior is because Piet Sielk did the production and some backing vocals, but the second side of the vinyl is pure U.S. power! Great album in any case. The bands you mentioned are not so much in the U.S. epic/power vein of Twisted Tower Dire due to European origin. I'd try Last Empire, Skullview etc. |
