Post subject:  Pretty Maids - Future World
Anyone like this band? I think the first three are metal essentials. Future World is a great great album. Man those Danes, bad cartoonists, but good musicians.

Hey, I like this band. Future World and Red, Hot and Heavy are both great albums. And their 90 stuff, altough I can't call great, is good too.

their 3rd (Jump the Gun) sucked... but Red Hot & Heavy & Future World are two great albums ! 8)

also, Spooked is good...

that makes them the overall 2nd best metal band from Denmark.

I just d/led the first few track off this album and i really like it! I would never have guessed this was made in the 80's, hasn't aged a bit!

I'm actually surprised you liked this. Weren't you the one who used Pretty Maids as "gay flower metal" or "girlish metal" in a discussion not long ago ?

Future World and Spooked are my fav. Great band and the cover for Future World is still one of the best.

No I never did. The first two albums are straight NWOBHM. The song Back to Back in particular is fucking awesome. Its also the best Hammerfall song.

I listen to Future World the way I listen to the 80's Scorpions. Its really well made music, and yes it does have some AOR in it, but its done with class and its still kind of heavy. Nothing flowery about it to me. There is little resemblance between Pretty Maids and ...oh lets say Edguy.

Well sorry about that, I thought it was you because if i remember correctly it was accompanied with some random Edguy slander. Must have been some other Edguy hater then.

I listen Pretty Maids the same way too and, even though i like Foreigner and Europe, I find nothing wrong in PM, great 80's melodic rock band.

It's all in the way its done. Pretty maids add that rockingness to it but its done in a way that makes it better. Thats why I love Incubus(UK) and Praying Mantis. they do the same thing. There's AOR in it but its totally awesome.

Great band! One of my fave dane acts, along with King Diamond / Mercyful Fate, Evil and a couple of others.
