Here it is: The Legionary
I must say, this song kicks serious ass (as to be expected with Scanner). It's quite epic and complex, but in a different way than previous works. I must admitt, I probably wouldn't have guessed it's Scanner if I didn't know. This band's ability to periodically reinvent itself is unbelievable.

Unlike their last album, this one will probably be more power inclined rather than progressive, although there are progressive tendencies all over the place.

But the big news is probably the new singer: Efthimios Ioannidis, some greek guy I suppose, is very different from Haridon Lee or SL Coe. He reminds me at times of Geoff Tate and he is very very very good.

Here is Efthimios recording in the studio: http://www.scanner4u.de/Studio_Efthi(1).avi

You definitely have to. Try their early classic Hypertrace for some high quality in-your-face style of power metal a la early Helloween, and their masterpiece Mental Reservation for a more intricate approach to this style.

I liked the proggy breakdown in the middle of the new track. Thanks again for the tip!

Their second album is the only one I have at the moment. I worship it holy, it's in my top ten albums of all time list.
