In the past 6 months I've watched Jag Panzer live in Athens, as well as Reverend Bizzare. Got bored during the Reverend show ( I have medium doom tolerance :P), but Panzer did a special ample destruction show and destroyed the place, Tyrant must be the only vocalist in history that sings the tunes higher during the live shows!! And I might travel back to Athens next month to watch Dokken for the second time (first was in Crete a couple of years ago, Jon Levin era) - I'm a huge Dokken fan btw!

Oh and of course Manowar in Athens on November the 25th! I already booked my plane tickets and my time off from work!!!

If your interested in trying some other Aussie rock, you can't go past the band Powderfinger.

Well last night i got to see the one and only...

DRAGONFORCE!!

Their first Australian show, in Melbourne, with local metal band Black Majesty playing before them. Couldnt ask for a better two bands to play in the one night.
Black Majesty were very good, played around 7 tracks, including Dragon Reborn, Silent Company, Darkened Room, Visionary, A Better Way To Die, Fall Of The Reich & Legacy. They received a great response from the crowd.

After a long wait after Black Majesty (the crowd was getting very restless), DragonForce came out and totally blitzed for around 2 hours. My ears are still ringing from the loudness, and its been 18 hours since the concert ended.

DragonForce played songs from all 3 of their albums, including Through The Fire And Flames, My Spirit Will Go On, Soldiers Of The Wasteland, Operation Ground And Pound, Valley Of The Damned, Dawn Over A New World, Cry For Eternity, Fury Of The Storm, Storming The Burning Fields, Black Fire and Fields Of Despair. I cant think of the rest atm, but there werent much more.

ZP had total control over the crowd and really got them into a frenzy and into the gig. Sam and Herman totally kicked ass and i was in total awe of them. Vadim was funny, played well and had a 5 minute solo during a small break where he ended his keyboard solo with the tune from The Simpsons

Overall it was a fantastic gig, one of the best i've ever been to, right up there, if not better than Nightwish. The gig was sold out and the band were very appreciative of that and i am glad that the aussie metalheads came out in force for this great band.

Two memorable things from the gig, as i was so close to the stage, i got to give a high-5 to Sam and my friend was able to actually play Herman's guitar during a solo. Herman grabbed his outstreached hand and put it on the strings of the guitar, moving it up and down....

Great night, couldnt ask for anything better :D
