Hey guys, what do you think of Insania? Assuming, of course, that you've heard them. Basically, I think they're great. Melodic and catchy, and yeah, they have progressed a lot lyrically over the years. I guess this is somewhat of self-promoting thingy, cause I am their webmaster. But seriously, anyone into bands like Stratovarius, Edguy and Helloween should check them out. They've got three albums out. A fourth one has been recorded, but won't be out until fall, due to technical problems. And yeah, there is a forum too. Please register. You don't even have to talk about the band all the time. ![]() http://www.insania.se |

Did not care for the ice album, but the last two have been pretty pleasant. I wish they slowed things down a tad more on songs. I think their style of music would suit well with varying tempos between the songs, rather than feeling like the songs run together a bit. You also have to admire them for excellent power metal album covers ![]() |

Great band. Sunrise and Fantasy both kick ass! They should get much more attention than they do. |

Glad you like them. The new album has more variation and, above all, the lyrics have improved and are now entirely free of cliche fantasy artefacts ... *no pun intended* And yeah, I know that every band says that, but hey, it's their job ... |

Aargh, I venture into this board for the first time in ages, and the first thread I see references a Peter Andre song. |

Seriously, the band was around long before he even thought of writing that song. Kinda sad how he says he 'invented the word'. |

I have Sunrise In Riverland and Fantasy. I liked both very much. Have they released anything since Fantasy? |

Glad you like 'em. They have recorded a new album (December 2005) but due to "technical difficulties" it looks like we'll have to wait until Fall for a European release. |

Just cathing up on some of the topics I missed while I was gone. This band is pretty damn good. They get kind of boring after a while, but "Illusions" has to be one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. |

This comparison doesn't do them a favour, cause for a lot of metalheads that's enough to put them down unheard. Undeservedly, because Fantasy is a very good album. Well, they won't get any award for originality in sound and style but the songwriting is excellent. Drive, power, and playfullness are intoxicating. The songs are long but not long winded, the numerous solos are virtuoso but useful, sound arrangements are lavish but not kitchy. Lyrics are quite profound (sense of human existence, live after death, and stuff) and mostly stay away from the genre typical clichés. So they have quite more than any of the bands they are referenced to. |
