Luca Turilli’s DREAMQUEST Presents 'LOST HORIZONS'

The music on Lost Horizons combines powerful metal instrumentation with angelic, operatic, female vocals to create a sound that might best be described as 'Symphonic Electro-Metal'.
The debut album, Lost Horizons introduces a new style and technique to Luca’s already mighty repertoire, enriched by modern elements: new metal, opera, techno-electronic music and gothic-symphonic atmospheres.
He will be only the keyboard player of the band and NOT the guitar player!

Also - The Infinite Wonders Of Creation
marks the debut of Luca’s dual musical talents: as a guitar virtuoso and also as a prodigious keyboardist
After exploring and exhausting the topics of the past and the future, he has composed a symphony dedicated to Mother Nature The atmospheric sounds and combined with operatic female vocals and symphonic instrumentation makes for a great listen.

I have been sampling both and give them 2 thunbs up.

They were lucky if that dolphin saved the kid, instead of raping it. Damn things.

Any links to samples, peoples?

I forgot to mention Olaf Hayer and a female singer will share the microphone on the whole CD on Luca's solo album The Infinite Wonders Of Creation
I am just sick to death of dragons and demonhearts, so new direction is a welcome change
Fingon i have never heard him play the keyboard only the strings so I dont know if thats "was about all he could do right"

So, not your cock then, I presume?

By the way, word is that these releases kick ass. The first two and their accompanying EPs are excellent.

If you died of brain cancer and they performed an autopsy you still wouldn't be open-minded!

ZING! *knee slap* Haw!

By the way, no samples that I can find except on Amazon.com. His page is being redone, or something.

I'm looking forward to the Infinte Wonders of Creation, but this Dreamquest project does not fill me with optimism. Its obvious Luca has being losing interest in playing guitar over the last few years (all rhythm guitars on his last solo album and the last Rhapsody outing were played by other people, and he's always been keen to leave Sasch Paeth to handle the acoustics).

Initially I was very dissapointed with this album but after five listens I'm really starting to like it. It will never be as good a Prophet but its good in its own way. And Olaf Hayer sounds amazing, cant wait for new Dionysus!!

What are you saying, there's no lead work in Prophet Of The Last Eclipse or that someone else played the lead stuff, not him?

No, I'm saying all Luca played was the lead parts and solos. His drummer did the rest.

OK, I've listened to Dreamquest and I honestly think it kicks ass!! Excellent CD, but if you don't like symphonic metal with female vocals, think newer After Forever without the grunts, you won't like this album. There's also some electronic elements. Not electronic songs, but in addition to the guitars and everything there is some electronic effects. Great CD, though.

As for The Infinite Wonders Of Creation, I don't know, I just kind of skimmed each song and it does, in fact—like the rest of the MR guys said—sound weak. Very mid-paced and rock-oriented rather than power metal. I don't know. I'll give it another spin tomorrow, but I think it's safe to say that the Dreamquest CD is the better of the two.
