I started this topic to talk about one of the unfairly under-rated bands around! MANTICORA!! They are great, have 4 fantastic albuns and there still a lot of metal fans that don't know them! So I decided to write this topic, because I think they deserve! Just check the reviews for them in this site and listen to these songs! They have a new album called 8 Deadly Sin that is fantastic! A darker Blind Guardian meets Iced Earth is how i would describe them to people who havent heard any of there material. i have 2 of there albums Hyperion , Root Of Eternity and all it took me was one listen to be a hooked. http://www.metalcovenant.com/pages/cdre ... y_sins.htm They didnt score to well on there last album with metalcovenant.com above is the lnk for the review.I haven,t heard the new album but i will reserve my judgement till i have .I have heard the sample Melancholic and that was very good. |

I downloaded all those songs about a half a year ago. They rock my socks off. I'm just too damn lazy to look to find those albums. And buying a Manticora album has been pushed down to near-bottom of the list of what I want to do under the weight of everything else I've been looking for. Still a good band, though. |

I second this. I have all their CDs and they each great in their own way. Highly recommended. One of my favorite bands. |

Thought i'd promote Manticora a little bit too ;) Manticora plays a mix of technical speed/thrash/power metal. I had a little difficulty getting into their music at first, but they've slowly become one of my favorite bands. I'd get '8 Deadly Sins' as i think it's their best and one of 2004's best albums. Not a weak track to be found. Really original and unknown band that deserves some attention. |
