Can anyone recommend some great live DVDs? I love maiden's DVDs and I know it can't get better than that, but still... something with great producion, including sound and video. Something that really leaves an impression (like ROCK IN RIO with the classical intro and than adrian kicking off with the intro riffs to WICKER MAN - ofcourse only those who watched it will know.... I showed that to ten people who are totaly not into metal and they all LOVED it )

I only own 3 metal DVDs: Nightwish - From Wishes To Eternity, Blind Guardian - Imaginations Through The Looking Glass, and Dream Theater - Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York. Personally I thought all of those ones were really well done. And I suppose you would only like them if you liked any of the bands.

And though I dont own it, I would reccommend, Rush - R30.

The Blind Guardian DVD has a sound problem for me. It's like, at points the sound suddenly fades away a bit, then comes back again. It seems to have some kind of connection to how the camera moves. It's bearly noticible though unless you listen with headphones, but still very annoying. It might have something to do with some settings but I just haven't figured it out yet :/

As for DVD's, Dream Theater - Live In Budokan is a damn good DVD. Quite a heavy setlist, awesome sound, lighting and everything. Some bonus material aswell, not really anything you watch more than once or twice but still.

I haven't noticed anything like that at all yet. I actually thought it sounded good. But now I think I'll check it out again tommorow and pay closer attention just to see.

I saw that at HMV one day, went back the next and it was gone, havent seen it since. I really want it, they keep gettin the live CD version of it in though, but I hate live albums. So no dice!

Yeah Blind Guardian's DVD is awesome too.

Can't wait for Kamelot's live DVD coming out later in the year.

I must be the only person who was not impressed with the Blind Guardian DVD. They are probably one of my top 5 bands ever, but I'd like to see Hansi have a bit more energy on stage.

I wasn't very impressed with it either to be frank, even if we don't count the soundproblem I had. I don't mind the more shy kind of like singers that don't wanna jump around the stage like a candyass, but I thought Hansi could have done a better job singing.

Judas Priest Electric Eye DVD is the best one I own. That was a worthwhile purchase with all the videos plus concert footage. I also have Dio's Evil or Diving and it's alright. I'd rather have the Sacred Heart DVD to see Dio before the fall.

Oh, and the Iced Earth Gettysburg DVD is worth it if you have a surround sound system like me.

Actually, sanding that piece of crap is a better use for it than sitting through it.
