With the current vs. vocalists, i thought this one would be a nice battle. The one-time members of both Gamma Ray and Helloween, with Ralf leaving Gamma Ray in 1994 to try out for Judas Priest, then created Primal Fear with Matt Sinner. Kai left Helloween in 1988 to create Gamma Ray and had the sole vocal duties after Ralf left, and also shared vocals with Piet Sielck of Iron Savior before leaving to concentrate only on Gamma Ray. An interesting battle as I love both these singers. But I have to chose Ralf Scheepers just slightly over Kai Hansen, as Ralf has a fantastic voice, a screamer, that just kicks ass. What do you guys think? |

I don't know, to be honest. I like Kai very much for what he did in Helloween and Gamma. I like Ralf very much for what he did in Primal Fear. My vote goes to Ralf. Thanks to him I've got my nickname ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Kai. Just listen Walls of Jericho, and you'll understand why. |

Ralf's ok, but Kai just blows him out of the water. |

I like Kai Hansen and all, but singing comes so natural to Ralf Scheeprs. He is one of the best, IMO. |

Ralf is a better singer but has never recorded an album as good as one that Kai has sung on. |

I beg to differ I consider Primal Fear's Nuclear Fire, Black Sun, Devils Ground and Seven Seals to be all better than Gamma Ray's last two albums, Majestic and No World Order. |

Primal Fear=chain production recycled Judas Priestv material with zero originality;Nuclear Fire is a good album, once you've heard it ,you've heard everything you need to know about Primal Fear. Black Sun and Devil's Ground=Nuclear Fire II and III.So i don't see much interest in this band;the original(Priest) is better, imo. |

They added some elements that had been absent before. It's a different album than, let's say, Nuclear Fire. And I dare to say it's quite original ![]() |

We must be hearing different things I hardly hear any recycled Priest material, and even if there is, i think the Primal Fear sound is better. Zero originality- who gives a crap, as long as it sounds good. Now days almost every power metal band coming out does not sound original I can hear differences between Nuclear Fire all the way to Devils Ground, with Seven Seals being even more different |

I'm no great fan of Primal Fear either, but this new album is different to anything they've done before. It just sounds fresh and energetic, with more depth to it. |
