I need some more power metal to listen to, but I am tired of getting all those sing along choruses. Like Gamma Ray's Heaven can Wait. Now I like ManOwaR, Grave Digger, and PainmuseuM they all have a more gruff mean sound to them except for Eric but he's Eric. When I heard Metal For Life (PainmuseuM) I was excited that a Power Metal band with such a good singer. Tim Clairborn (thats probobly not how spell his name) he makes it to my Top 5 metal singers. Grave Digger just kicks ass with some let downs in their career. So what bands can I check out that don't have the annoying vocals. |

I have no idea what you just said, but check out Persuader. Angry Power Metal. |

Persuader (good suggestion) Blind Guardian (dude if you haven't heard them, you need to get to gettin’) Angel Dust (very good aggressive power metal) Virgin Steele (for Manowar fans) Demoniac (Dragonforce members and harsh vocals, good stuff) Wintersun (Power Metal with harsh vocals) Rage (If you like Grave Digger you might enjoy these guys) There is a shit ton more, which I'm sure other posters will cover. |

ok i listen to Iced Earth and Blind Guardian already, and all I was trying to say before is: I want some more power metal to listen to but I can't stand the annoying sing along choruses. That's why I like Grave Digger and PainmuseuM. Plus ManOwaR, Blind Guardian, and Iced Earth. |

I went to my local heavy metal website (either than this one) and looked up Wintersun, but they have nothing on them. So could someone post their complete discography? |

Iced Earth is too metallicathrashy to be power metal IMO. What rules is Jag Panzer. I have both Casting the Stones and Thane to the Thone and they are what I reach for when I need some power metal with some balls to it. |

Some more (I agree with the previous ones): Running wild (better first albums that last ones) Nevermore Demons & wizards (or Blind guardian meets Iced earth) Morgana Lefay/Lefay (except the cd Morgana Lefay, it's horrible) And there will be more suggestions, for sure |

They have only one album, its called Wintersun. The mainman in this band used to be in Ensiferum, who you may also like but they are more of a folk/viking metal band. I'd recommend Mystic Prophecy (particularly the new album Savage Souls) who play speedy, aggressive power metal with raspy, but not harsh vocals. You may also like Manticora, who play semi-epic Power Metal with serious balls. I'll also second the recommendations of Angel Dust, Persuader and Morgana Lefay. |

I very rarely go in for Power Metal, but when I do I can't think of anything better than that Wintersun s/t album... Make sure you check it out, Walnut! Edit: Probably because I'm such a Power ignoramus that I can't think of anyone else, but still I think it's great... |

Ensiferum? Children Of Bodom? Wintersun's a good suggestion, Kalmah? Edit: Rad got the first one... |

Norther I suppose, if you want a slower, less frantic and altogether less interesting version of old Bodom. |

You can try some Tad Morose. They are power metal without sounding too happy and with a great vocalist. If you dont like the chosus' in you r power metal maybe you should try more prog/power bands like Pagan's Mind. The alsbum Celestial Entrance is awesome. |

Oh man, you got the right idea. Aggressive Power!!! If I were you I'd get Steel Attack's first album "Where Mankind Fails", then I'd get Unstoppable force and Mad Locust Rising by Agent Steel. If those three records don't kick your fucking ass then I think you should get "heresy" by Paradox. Awesome super fucking heavy melodic heavy metal. |

Decent. You might like them actually. Just be sure to check out Wizard's Odin. Their best, IMO. |
