I was just on the Nightwish website and Tuomos had written that Marco was working on the new Tarot album at the moment. So more than likely it will be another 2006 release I look forward to.

So I figured I'd start a thread for people to discuss the band, name their favorite songs/albums, maybe give some Tarot newbies a place to start, etc...

Personally I have only heard the albums: Spell of Iron (1986) and Suffer Our Pleasures (2003) and both were great. Definately need to check out some more.

the only whole album I heard is Suffer Our Pleasures and it's pretty damn sweet... dunno why but everytime I listen to it I find it pretty close to Dio.... anyone felt that too ?

Now that you mention it, yes. But more modern sounding - ie more modern sounding than modern Dio. In fact, maybe what modern Dio could/should sound like...?

I've heard Suffer Out Pleasures and The Glory Of Nothing. Both albums are great imo. I personally prefer SoP because it's prodused better and it's heavier. I Rule is one of the best openers i've heard. TGoN had a few fillers but overall it was a good listen.
That news Tuomas posted was really what I was waiting for. Marco has time to focus for a new Tarot album and Tuomas rejoins For My Pain for their second album. Can't wait to hear what they can come up with after their great debut, which is one of my fav. gothic albums. Fingers crossed not to screw up.

I only have Suffer Our Pleasures—haven't heard the first one—and it kicks ass! "Undead Son" is such a fucking badass tune! I need to buy that first CD.

And good news on the For My Pain CD indeed. I still need to get the Killing Romance EP.

EDIT: Muthafuck! I thought they only had two CDs! They have fucking NINE!? But...

The long waited Tarot remasters will finally hit the stores on March 2006. The remaster catalog contains the first five studio albums along with the "To Live Again" -live album previously released in Japan. Each album will be accompanied with special bonus track(s).

The detailed tracklists and the exact release date will be announced later. The catalog will be released by the Bluelight Records.

Albums to be remastered:

”Spell Of Iron” - 1986
”Follow Me Into Madness” - 1988
“To Live Forever” - 1993
“To Live Again” - 1994
“Stigmata” - 1995
“For The Glory Of Nothing” - 1998

Undead Son, Pyre Of Gods, Convulsions...all are great tunes. What's great about Tarot is that they have very honest, straight to the face heavy metal delivery.

Any For My Pain fan is OK in my book.

That's the one I got and it's a kickass album.Marco is a damn good singer despite some people ribbin him because he's a part of Nightwish.

I undertand that they are going to remaster the older albums if that's the case then I'll pick those up.

I remember liking the song Dancer In The Dark or something and found mostly everything else to be quite boring.

I also agree with the Dio/Marco thing, I think its somewhat in the sound, but mostly in the delivery, as I think (like Pyroman said about Tarot) both have a very honest and straight to the face style of rock/metal.
