Throughout highschool all of my metal mates were of the Metallica/Pantera persuasion of metal. I was more into Manowar/Maiden type of stuff, putting down the thrash genre as one for angry pot smoking knuckleheads. But I just got the three classic Pantera albums for the price of one, and although they aren't along my current tastes (Beseech/Tristania, etc) I can see why they had such a following. And Phil can sing! I always thought he was just a grunter. Good stuff. Psycho Holiday is a great tune. |

Only ever liked the Cowboys album. That's pretty good. |

Same here. Cowboys From Hell has some good stuff on it, and they have a few others good songs here and there. But, besides on that album, Pantera has this thing about consistently sucking. |

If you like Cowboys From Hell, download Power Metal. They aren't too far off from each other. No, Power Metal isn't Glam, that was the three albums before it. |

Glam is a look, not a style. They were 80's rock with a lot of metal on their first four albums. I don't care what anyone says, Pantera kicked ass from day one until the end. |

Oh yes, forgot about that one! That one was actually a pretty good album; not as good as Cowboys and nothing special, but its certainly better than "Vulgar Display of Sucking" and "The Great Southern Trendsuck." |

Make Poison look normal and they're just a rock band. |

I don't think so. They looked like chicks, so chicks were attracted to them, and bought their albums for that. I saw them live on the "Open Up" tpur, and the female to male ratio was about 10 to 1. Glam Rock=All image, no substance Rock, ie Poison, Ziggy Stardust |

I like Cowboys From Hell and Vulgar Display of Power. The rest of their albums have some good songs and some not so good ones. |

I liked everything Pantera released from Cowboys onwards, especially Vulgar and Trendkill. Driven was pretty good as was Reinventing The Steel. They always had a few "filler" tracks on each album, but did have a lot of awesome headbangin' tracks. Pantera rocks! |

Pantera is the kind of band I hate, partly because of their tendency to be lame, and mostly because they have such loathesome morons as fans. Not to say this includes you gentlemen. Just, many, many Pantera fans fall into the typical idiot hick stereotype that I hate so much. |

We don't even get hicks over here and their fans are still like that (work that one out if you will). "Grrr I'm a big macho man with a shaved head and a hash leaf on my t-shirt. I'll break your fucking face if you look at me squint." |

There's a lot of logic in hating a band because of their fans. |

I think 90% of the fans of any band are fairweather fans, thus they're more likely to be retarded and annoying because they just don't get it. It's an unfortunate side effect of the music world. |

I'm going to see Dragonforce tonight. Expect lots of little Emo fuckers in Trivium t-shirts to be starting mini moshpits during every solo. Little bastards. :( |

Agreed 100%, which was my point in why I avoided them in the first place. There's no way I'd rate them as great, just good enough to make the long drives enjoyable. |

I saw them in concert for their Southern Trendkill tour. I had no problems with the fans that night. Sure there were the fans people are describing here, but once the band started we were all there for one thing |
