I'm looking for a metal band that plays technically, something like Dream Theater/Redemption/Zero Hour/Whatever, and has a female singer. So far the only one I've found is Atrox, who are good, although the super high pitched vibrato kinda gets on my nerves. Any suggestions? |

I suggest you stay away from female singers. |

What about Stream Of Passion,Arjen Anthony Lucassen's new band.I don't think they sound like Zero Hour but they do play prog metal and the lead singer is female. |

Or you could try Ambeon, which is another Arjen project with female singer. The music is more like a mix of prog. rock and gothic, but if you want to listen female fronted metal, then you should listen gothic. |

Ambeon and Stream Of Passion are both excellent, but neither are prog in any way. |

Try Penumbra, although it is a gothic band it has some prog elements, and the chick singer rocks! |

Peccatum are a sort of avant-goth metal band with female vocals. Not really in the style of power-prog but on the other hand, they actually do progressive things unlike anything featuring Arjen.. |

Try Edenbridge, their debut album. Awesome female vocals, not that technical but melodic with plenty of prog elements. |

AGHORA! featuring Sean Malone and Sean Reinert (ex-Cynic). it's proggy, jazzy, and keeps a decent pace and "heaviness" throughout. and as you'd expect, the music itself is great, even without a singer they'd be worth listening to. http://www.aghora.org/ |

Yo, nood! Are you looking for a specific band? Like you've heard them and are trying to figure out who it is, or are you just looking for suggestions? Bands you may like? |

I hate to disagree with you Eyesore but a lot of Lucassen's stuff is progressive he might not be fully prog but listen to SOP & Star One and you'll see some elements of prog in there. |
