Dreamtale Helloween Gamma Ray Stratovarius (like the first two Sonata Arctica albums) Finntroll (like Elvenking on acid) Suidakra (like Elvenking on morphine) Ignore the last two if you don't like harsh vocals |

Timeless Miracle - Into The Enchanted Chamber Best album of 2005 IMO, great power metal with alot of folkness and pagany lyrics. |

Dark Moor - Gates of Oblivion (reminds me of Heavenly at times, with a much better singer) Cellador - Leaving all Behind Demo (Dragonforce mixed with Helloween. Leaning more towards Helloween) In Flames - Whoracle or The Jester's Race (you can't go wrong with either on of these. Melodic death metal similat to... well, really nobody on that list, but check them out anyway). Stratovarius - Visions (This was Sonata Arctica's biggest influence) Power Quest - Neverworld (Contains ex-members of Dragonforce, and is more happy than Freedom Call) There is a million albums you should try, but those came to my head first. |

Norther (Similar to CoB and Ensiferum) Dragonland (Happy and cheesy as fuck, but if you like Fairyland and FC you'll probably like these guys too ![]() Hibria (Not really similar to any band on your list, but hell does these guys rule!) Best album of 2005 IMO, great power metal with alot of folkness and pagany lyrics. Bloody amazing album. I could'n make a top 5 of 2005, but this album would have been included. |

Try Wintersun - its the new project of Ensiferum's former guitarist, sounds sort of like an epic, folk-tinged Children of Bodom. |

Wuthering heights(kinda reminds me of "bards metal", i think its most original music from my list) Rob Rock-Rage of creation(no revolution here, but still...pure jewel of powermetal craftsmanship) Thy majestie-Hastings 1066(for the fans of rhapsody and fairyland) Vision divine(i would say stratovarius meets sonata arctica) Virgin steele-House of atreus I,II - it's a must, pls dont get mad, but i have to say that in my opinion quality of this metal opera is as good as Avantasia, where David DeFeis appeared too |
