Quote: I've posted this before on-line on messageboards and every "metal" site I could think of. No one has been able to figure this out yet.
I am looking for a CD by a band that I cannot for the life of me recall. I can describe the cover of the CD for you, though. The cover featured a cyborg-(think Robocop)-like person—arms outstretched—holding a flame in one hand and a baby in the other. I've posted this before on-line, no one has figured it out yet. It's not The Almighty, Maiden, Powermad, Probot, Manowar, rtc. It's not a bootleg. All I can remember of the CD is that I saw an ad for it in a metal magazine and thought the picture was cool. More than likely it would have been Rip magazine (R.I.P.), Metal Edge, or Hit Parader. I don't think I read much more than that back then, unless it was some obscure magazine, but I doubt it. I used to draw a lot and drew the picture myself and then I ordered the CD and it has since disappeared from my collection, which is over 4,000 just for CDs alone, then there's thousands more of demo tapes, vinyl, and even a few 8-tracks. My collection is huge and I can't remember the exact style of the band except that it was a metal CD, traditional metal. Anyone have any idea who this band was? I will pick up 5 metal CDs (my choice) for anyone who can help me!! Here you go: The artwork was featured in a late 80s RIP magazine I believe. It is the artwork of an UNRELEASED LP 'While the flame still burns' by a former NWOBHM band called Desolation Angels. The artwork was created by the band's vocalist Dave Wall and will be included in the band's soon to be released 'Anthology'. As far as I know, the artwork does not exist on the internet so only those who could scan a copy of either the magazine, LP or upcoming 'Anthology' will be able to give us a look at this mysterious piece of art. 8) As far as the 5 free CDs, I would prefer they be sent to Denis at Sentinel Steel for his "used" section. Is this alright Ken (Eyesore)? This was certainly a project... ![]() |

NO FUCKING WAY!! Neither band name or album name rings a bell! Hahahaha. Shit, I have to research this. I thought I asked Den about this?? If this is the actual CD the Den will definitely get the CDs. Absolutely! A deal is a deal. I knew it would have been an ad in RIP or Hit Parader, or one of those older mags. Man, thanks a ton, dude. You fucking rule. Who else worked to find this answer?? EDIT: You know, now that album title is starting to touch upon some old, long lost memories. ![]() |

I knew it would have been an ad in RIP or Hit Parader, or one of those older mags. Man, thanks a ton, dude. You fucking rule. Who else worked to find this answer?? First off, I'm glad you're so enthusiastic, as I really did spend a lot of time looking for this mysterious CD. (thanks) ![]() My investigation started with asking around, and Denis felt strongly it was a NWOBHM band and know one else gave me anything. So I researched Metal-Archives, nwobhm.com and nwobhm.net and I kept hitting dead ends. Finally, just yesterday, Denis was able to provide me with a possible band name, which was in fact the correct band... Desolation Angels. ![]() After digging very deep over the last day or so, I spotted a comment on a forum from 2004 where there was a discussion on the band, and someone said something like "I really liked that artwork they had with the robot". After digging even deeper, I learned that the band (in addition to their demos and 1or 2 full-lengths) had the "unreleased" LP (so it is not listed on Metal-Archives). I was able to contact the record label of Desolation Angels (even though the band is split-up), and that's where I got the final confirmation and info on the creator of the artwork (vocalist) and the 'Anthology' CD. Clint Fuckin' A! That is awesome. I tried everyone and anyone I could think of. I know I sent Den an e-mail on it, he must not have gotten back to me, or maybe he did and just couldn't think of it. I don't know, but I am EXTREMELY appreciative. Truly. You must be like me if you went that far to figure it out. I first posted about this on January 3rd, 2005 on the HevyDevy board and it's been driving me insane ever since! I hate not knowing, apparently so do you. Hahaha. Seriously, thank you very much. I owe you both, it would appear, and a deal's a deal. I will send you both 5 CDs each. I can't say what they will be because that I don't know until I find them. Hehe. But they will be metal, of course. PM me your address and Den's if you have it. I just bought that print off of eBay, by the way! Hahahaha. |

I tried by looking on some sites that have album covers with the band names.. like BNR and another site I had bookmarked, but Firefox randomly deleted all of my bookmarks the other day for some reason so I cant remember the other one. It was bugging the crap out of me to, I had to know what you were talking about! And now I do. |
