I have always heard of them but for some reason never really checked them out until today so I'm listening to some soundbytes off of their 8 Deadly Sins CD and what I am hearing I'm liking it a lot reminds me of earlier Blind Guardian.

I'm planning on getting some of their stuff soon!!!!!!!

I got their roots of eternity cd years ago. It has some good moments, but overall I find it boring, mostly because of the production where everything sounds constantly on a "maximum" level that's a bit tiring, and also the vocals which I don't like.

Yes. Have all of there albums. Some songs are incredible..some blah. I think the newest
one is probably the best. Start with the most recent and work towards early stages if you like them. They have progressed alot. If you like your power metal Heavy and less Happy you will dig them. not to mention the vocalists has some similarities with Hansi Kursh from Blind Guardian. You would not be dissapointed i dont think

Considering I like Blind Guardian I don't have a problem with that.

Thanks for the suggestion I'll start with their newest stuff and work my way back.

'8 deadly sins' is bit of a masterpiece. Not a single bad song. The band is very capable (especially technically), with not a single bad album in their history. The only downside of the band is that they're inaccessible as hell... but time and patience will solve that :)

I wouldn't say they sound much like Blind Guardian or any other band though... they're really a mix of a lot of different styles... but they totally have their own sound...

I'd rate their albums:
1. 8 deadly sins
2. roots of eternity
3. Darkness with tales to tell
4. Hyperion

They dont sound like BG, but the singer most certainly does (alot of the time) :) especially in the sustaining of notes, and the somewhat echoey feel

Manticora is completely awesome, and at the moment, Hyperion is their best album (but they're all good).
