imo, the best classic heavy metal act US ever gave the metal world... somehow reminescent of the NWOBHM but with an american "twist" that gave them their unique sound (I'd say Blue Oyster Cult influences but you can disagree...)

their first three albums particullary are damn good

March of the Saint (1984) 85/100
Delirious Nomad (1985) 90/100
Raising Fear (1987) 80/100

what do you think of those guys ? Hit or Miss ?

Why I must confess to never having listened to them.

To anyone reading - that's right, we now have a quantifiable way of defining one's tr00ness.

Damnit, I wish I was more tr00.

I got Delirious Nomad one month ago, and it's not bad, but i had higher expectations. Some songs are a bit boring, others have some weird structure...maybe it's a slow grower. Or maybe it's not their best album, and i should check another one.

Thank you, I will def disagree and I what BoC album are you tallking about? March of the Saint equals decent but stuff by Warlord, Omen and others eats them alive. The others one......ugggh, Bush's is voice always ruined them just like he proves on a yearly basis with Anthrax, of course you are free to disagree. :)

Hit all the way, but come on, dude, the best? Paaleeeease. Those scores don't seem to reflect what would be "the best classic heavy metal act US ever gave the metal world..."

well, US has never been a great land for classic heavy metal... thrash, hair metal, they ruled but classic heavy metal's always been kinda weak from where you come from... plus I give harsh rates, always did, always will... that's how french I am

lol

I might have to put Manilla Road ahead of them (tho maybe too obscure with a poor lables compared to Armored Saint). They are American are they not?

Armored Saint were fantstic. One of my favorite True HM bands. The song strutures were at times very strange, but Dave Pritchard always tied it all together. It's a shame we lost him, he was an excellent guitar player. John Bush's voice was way better here than in Anthrax.

"We are, Pirates!"
