I'm planning on buying this a little later, especially now that Century Media has issued a "Remastered Version" which addresses the original's supposedly crappy production. How is the album? |

The Remastered Version is pointless if you ask me. I actually like the gritty production of the older one. It seems more fitting, and it succeeds in making the album very dark. Overall, it's an excellent album. |

Overall, it's an excellent album. Yep. Great album, but a remastered/remixed version was unnecessary. I think it was a personal stab at Kelly Gray, honestly. I don't prefer either over the other, so go for the remixed version for the extras vids and whatnot. I won both because I'm a tool, but it's unnecessary. |

I like the remastered version. Nevermore just isn't a band that strikes me as benefiting from a gritty sound. They're the musical version of Fritz Lang's vision of the future, if that makes any sense. Tall and shining, but hiding something dark underneath. The darkness comes from the music itself; it needs that clean sheen to be properly deceptive. |

I'm with Carnifex on this one.I prefer the enchanced version vs the original one. |

Agreed, I like Jeff Loomis's guitar riffs and Warrel's singing to be crystal clear. I even think their last 3 albums have been better than Dreaming Neon Black because of the production on DNB.
As for Enemies, I've only heard a few songs on the original but own the remastered version and I can safely say that the remastered version is AWESOME. And I don't think the remastering was a stab at Kelly Gray since the band has said they weren't happy with the original because they couldn't afford Andy Sneap to produce it. |

I absolutely love this album, even though I downloaded it and a couple of the songs have been edited ie cut short. Anything that Nevermore have ever done has been truly amazing, and I can't believe that a band this great hasn't received more recognition. |

Okay, I'll probably either download it, buy it off iTunes, or buy it from Century Media's website since I decided I do want the remaster and I doubt you can get it in stores (if you can, let me know). When I pick it up, I will give a full review. |

You can get it in stores. I doubt you could download the extra content either. |

Well, I finally bought this album today. There's little to say other than that it is an excellent album. I really don't see why people are calling it this "big departure" from their norm. It basically sounds just like Dead Heart In A Dead World except may be a little less complex (that's not really a complaint, by the way). Be mindful that I bought the remastered version, so I really can't compare it to the original. |

Peopled called it a departure? To me it's basically the same thing Nevermore have always done but without their progressive elements (that only appear now and then on other albums anyways) |
