Several metal websites have reported that Iommi and Dio are working together on a project that will supposedly be called "Black Sabbath - The Dio Years" which will mostly be compilation of "Heaven and Hell", "Mob Rules", and "Dehumanizer" as well as a few "Live Evil" tracks. In addition, two UNRELEASED tracks featuring Dio on vocals will be released on the project as well.

Could this be the start of a new Dio/Black Sabbath era? Has Iommi finally had enough of waiting for Ozzy in order to do new material and full-fledged tour (sorry, Ozzfest just doesnt count, IMO)? Has the Black Sabbath camp finally had enough of Sharon and want to move on with their careers? I certainly hope so.

BTW, if this has been posted elsewhere on these forums, I didnt notice it, and I apologize.

erm...
I couldn't give a shit to be honest, unless they release some NEW shit, not just unreleased tracks-and i seriously doubt this is the beginning of a new era.

Taken directly from dio's website in the news section:

Greetings from Dio-land! The Scandinavian dates are now confirmed and on the tour section.
With respect to the recent rumors of Ronnie's rejoining Black Sabbath, Wendy Dio commented, “Ronnie is not re-joining Black Sabbath. He’s very happy with his own band and will be touring festivals next year with Dio, NOT OZZFEST." She went on to clarify that, "the writing project is just something that may happen between Tony and Ronnie if they have time between their own projects to write one or two songs to be included on the Black Sabbath: The Dio Years box set.”

Well, one or two songs is better than a kick in the balls.

I don't want RJ to work with Iommi again !!!

I want RJ to work with Ritchie Blackmore again because Rainbow/Dio was so much better than Black Sabbath/Dio !!! :D

Well Ronnie working with Richie would now mean the little dude singing over Rennaisance-faire music, and I somehow don't see that happening.

c'mon, just imagine the same bullshit Ritchie does lately but electrified with RJ Dio singing... wouldn't that sound a bit like old Rainbow did ? I think so !

I think Ritchie is still an excellent axeman and I believe with Ronnie as a sidekick and a bunch of young hungry for metal musicians that would be awesome !!! :D
