I was just on another website (bnrmetal) and was reading about a band called Viper. What are they? What style of music? Are they good enough to be talked about around here? Please I need to know. :twisted:

I don't know much about them except it was Andre Matos' first project.

well as i said i was reading about them on another website, and i did come across that Viper being his former band. but still like to know what style are they?

It's just straight up melodic metal from Brazil with hints of some Iron Maiden like melody and speed nothing really special though.

More traditional metal than Angra, worth checking out if you're a fan of the band, or a fan of Matos, personally as in most records this guy is in, I like the music, can't stand the voice (I know he's technically an excellent singer, but he sounds waaaay to neutered for my taste :) )

there was a song that angra used to play live called "Living for the night",that was actually a song from viper from the Theatre of fate album,very good song.

Definately worth getting both the Matos albums (available as 2in1 from Arise records) if you are a hardcore Angra fan!! There's some classic songs on them :)

I actually find the first two Viper albums to be some of the best power metal, particularly the second.
