Absolutely KILLER technical U.S. Power band, I received their debut the other day and all I can say is WOW! If you can picture a mixture between Onward and Airghed L'amh second album, you're pretty close.

You can also read the interview I did with the guys @ www.forgotten-scroll.com

Very good band. They also get extra points for being based around the best book series of all time. I had listened to their demo/EP/whatever it was, but I'll most likely get their album. Thanks for the interview man!

Yo! Thanks for the reminder, I meant to order their new CD already (which I just did)! Their debut, Winter Is Coming, was great. A bit unrefined, I guess, but damn good. The vocalist is a deadringer for Matt Barlow on some songs!

Have you heard The Veil Of Summer yet?

Yes I did, I can assure you it's top notch stuff! 100% professional, and what impressed me is that these guys really strive to make it big, I mean I got a promo and I've never even heard of them before!!! I think you can download a couple of tracks from their website.

I've listened to the clips already, CDBaby.com also has 2 minute clips of every song. It sounds great, but overall I didn't know if it all turned out well. I hope so, the debut EP was damn good.

Oh schnap! I just got The Veil of Summer today!! Goddamn is it good. It's like Iced Earth meets Awaken The Guardian-era Fates Warning. Everything that needed work on the first EP has been perfected and it's 10 times better!

I shall review this soon. I suggest you all check it out.

Reminded me a lot of Airghed L'amh "The Silver Arm" btw. And a little bit of Onward's second album.

I just ordered it through their site. It's well worth it, 10 times better than the EP demo.

It's Winterfell day! YAY!! Actually, I'm just listening to them at work today, figured I'd bump this for those who may not have heard them before.

Their page is down now, but CDBaby still has samples.

Winter Is Coming EP: http://cdbaby.com/cd/winterfell2
Veil Of Summer: http://cdbaby.com/cd/winterfell

Sadly, it appears that the band may have broken up. They're supposedly on hiatus at this point, looking for some new musicians, but no word yet. They've been in this state since March. I think I'll post a news article later. I'm sad. :(

It appears that the page is still there, just hidden, because these links still work:

From the Winter Is Coming EP:

Winterfell - Winter Is Coming
Winterfell - Son Of The Sun

From The Veil Of Summer:

Winterfell - Asatru

Clips from the pre-master of The Veil Of Summer:

Winterfell - The Beggar King
Winterfell - The Iris

This sounds really good. I can definitely hear the Iced Earth comparisons.

They're more progressive with their style, but singer does nail some dead-on Barlow notes. I suggest he fuck the band and call up Jon and get his ass on the new Something Wicked album! :D

They're a great band either way. The EP was really good, but had some stinkiNESS. They totally came back on Veil Of Summer and improved tenfold. There's hardly anything to complain about when it comes to that album.

Awesome band. I did a review of veil of summer, one of the biggest surprises of last year for me.

Not bad. I think IE have a much better guitar sound, more meaty. The vocalist does sound like a restrained Barlow, funny.

He's young, shit, the whole band is, so he'll grow into his voice. He hit some bum notes, especially the upper-register wails, on the Winter Is Coming EP—which is essentially a demo—but he nailed everything on Veil Of Summer, even those high-pitched screams. He's definitely got the chops.
