...they've simply outdone themselves! The Superheroes EP is fucking superb! A big 70's and 80's rock influence is all over this bitch! "Superheroes" has instantly become one of my favorite Edguy tunes, the same goes for "Judas At The Opera," I fucking love the late 70's rock/Queen vibe in the mid-section!

I cannot wait for Rocket Ride now, I really hope this EP is a sign of what's to come!! Great, great music on this thing!

Yeah, Edguy never ceases to amaze me. They keep coming out with some great songs.

I think that has something to do with the fact that they could give two shits what people think about them. They just want to have fun. Tobias Sammet is brilliant.

By the way Cellador's fill in guitarist went on tour with Edguy/Hammerfall/Into Eternity as a guitar tech. He said Edguy was very fun to be around.

I guess I'll take the voice of opposition. Hellfire Club was a great album, but compared to the back catalogue, nothing worth writing home about. This new EP/album seem to be heading in that direction even moreso, and I can't say I'm too excited. I mean, c'mon, these are the guys that brought us Theater of Salvation!!! To me, this is the pinnable of Edguy's career. The pinnacle of Sammet's career being the glorious 2CD concept Avantasia.

Fun songs are great, and not caring about what you do is great too, but only to an extent. I feel Edguy is going to cross that line soon, not that they already haven't for quite a few people.

Now that I think of it, where the fuck ARE the Vain Glory Opera/Theater of Salvation days? For the sake of their music, they should really maybe start to take themselves a lot more seriously. What they have going now may be arguably good, but with their talent, they could do MUCH better. They've already proved it.

I'm between the two on this one. I liked Hellfire Club, and for the most part I really dig Superheroes, but I wonder if the epic feel of the previous albums is now gone for good.

I'm impatient to listen to it !!!! I know the EP just arrived in Canada (not the DVD though), but I don't have it yet. It was abit expensive...But I'm almost sure it's very good and as soon as I'll get it, I tell you my impressions ok.

Which is your favourite song on the EP ?

2 - "Spooks in the Attic"

The only CD I have fully been able to listen to of theirs is Hellfire Club, and also both Avantasias. I recently picked up Hall of Flames, and though I like most songs off of it I really didnt notice anyhting that owned my world like Piper Never Dies and The Navigator off Hellfire. Maybe I just need to hear more of their back catalog, but I am definitley looking foward to hearing new material. The strange thing is though that it got reviewed on MetalCrypt by Sargon, who totally trashed it and Tobias at the same time. Now I take them with a grain of salt, after the BG NFOME review, but still it concerns me a little.

"Superheroes" and "Judas At The Opera" for me. "Superheroes" is one of the best Edguy songs I've ever heard, I absolutely love the 80's rock-like chorus! I could live without the awkward, drunken 007 theme song riff in the beginning, though. The first 3 seconds of the song just doesn't really fit well. What is that all about?

What you mean the bit that sounds like The Riddler by Nightwish?

The EP overall is good, but the title track is weak, IMO. Spooks in the Attic is good and Judas at the Opera is awesome! Too bad only Superheroes is gonna appear on their next album :?

Me? The Riddler? I didn't hear that at all. I heard a drunk person trying to play the 007 theme song. Hahaha.

I thought you meant maybe the intro after the intro if you follow. Since that 007 bit lasts less than a second. :)

I like "Superheroes", "Spooks in the attic", and "Judas at the opera" a lot. That being said there is nothing on here that can match "We Don't Need a Hero" or "The Piper Never Dies" or a few other songs off Hellfire Club. Hopefully the new album will kick it up a notch.

This band is just way too goofy.

Hmm, good, goofy is a much better word than the other one starting with the same letter to describe them.

If every song was goofy, I might complain, but having a goofy song or two on each album is a good thing, I think. Music isn't about being serious all the time. Concerts are supposed to be fun, so why not have a few fun songs that can just be entertaining without being serious?

Is there any ballad on this EP ?
If so, how do they sound like ?
