I didn't see a thread dedicated to Nevermore so I wanted to know who likes this kickass band.

With This Godless Endeavor quickly becoming one of the best new releases this year this band has quickly become one of my fav bands now.

And plus you gotta love the quality of Dreaming Neon Black talk about a dark moody passage into insanity!!!!!!!

The little I've heard is excellent. Must get something, although I nearly bought Enemies Of Reality the other week. A narrow escape, I am told.

Actually get the enhanced version of Enemies Of Reality instead of the original the production is 200 times better then the original.

I'll have a look, although I was meaning to start w/ "Dreaming Neon Black" or even the new one.

Enemies Of Reality(Original)
Enemies Of Reality(Enhanced)

Yeah I was one of those that thought the original production of EOR sucked that's why I wanted the enhanced version.

I got started on the original EOR. I think the production is awesome. It had the proper grit and substance that an album like that needs. I don't know why eneryone's complaining.

Dead Heart In A Dead World is my favorite, although it came very close when they released This Godless Endeavour, but Dead Heart still prevailed.

You can't really compare Dead Heart In A Dead World with This Godless Endeavor or any Nevermore album with another because each Nevermore album has a certain distinct personality to it that's why I like the band so much each album has it's own flavor and personality to it.

I heard the new one recently and only today heard Dead Heart... for the first time, and I was all "wow."

Highly impressive, although the vocals could maybe be a bit better.

Man, really? The vocals are my favourite bit..

I enjoy them and I have most of their stuff.. my only complaint is that the drumming is far too mechanical and clinical for the guy's emotional voice.

That is incorrect. Yes, it sounds crisper and cleaner, but the original really had nothing wrong with it. In fact, I think the darker, muddier sound fit the album better.

You are going to find people that didn't care for the original production like me but yeah if you want to get technical then you can say the muddy gritty production fits the theme but me personally I can't stand underproduced stuff that's just me.

Just seems a little over done on occasion. A minor complaint.

I think the whole remix thing was a bit of a FUCK YOU to Kelly Gray. It just didn't seem necessary. People can dislike it, no doubt, I just think even stacked up against the other Nevermore albums, it's not that bad, not bad enough to warrant all the press and negative commentary from so many. I think it's no worse than the production on the self-titled, and I've never heard anyone complain about that album.

My guess is that they had issues with Kelly Gray more than anything.
