I return! Mainly because I just heard that Slough Feg has a new album out (Digital Resistance) and I just checked out the single. It's fucking awesome, and you all should listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuTgTrhzUCo Can't remember the last time I felt so good after listening to a new metal song. So little metal in 2013 was interesting to me, but with this new Slough Feg album getting great reviews, and new Anubis Gate and Blind Guardians on the way.... This could be a damn good metal year. |

Listened to this for the first time today and mildly blown away. Feels like they've broken away from the auto-pilot of the last 3-4 albums and damn it feels good. |

I mean, it was a very enjoyable autopilot. Even their weakest album, The Animal Spirits, has some very good songs. But this feels fresh and innovative... After a few listens, it's become my favourite of theirs aside from Traveler. Damn awesome. |

Yeah. Scalzi can write the best riffs/melodies, and he's been doing that consistently for the last few albums. But here he hunkered down and wrote some great songs again too. |

Seemed like they were on cruise control, which even if this band records within their comfort zone they're still above most bands playing this style of music 8.5/10 for Digital Resistance |
