Yes another post about Cellador.

News article taken from BLABBERMOUTH.NET's press release!

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... emID=41041

"Metal Blade Records has announced the signing of CELLADOR, a melodic speed/power metal band from Omaha, NE.

"Originally formed in summer 2004 by guitarist Chris Petersen, CELLADOR was founded with the purpose of introducing aggressive European-style melodic speed/power metal to the Midwest USA, where the style is completely nonexistent and virtually unknown. CELLADOR spent the fall and winter months of 2004 writing and rehearsing, and began playing live by March 2005. In May, CELLADOR came out with the demo, "Leaving All Behind", which THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER guys passed on to Metal Blade owner Brain Slagel, after the band opened for them in Omaha. Impressed by their skill and musicianship, Brian Slagel offered the band a contract making them one of Metal Blade Records' latest signings.

""I am truly excited about our latest signing, CELLADOR," stated Slagel. "They are a young band with incredible musicianship and songs. We have been looking just for this type of band who mix the old school metal with a fresh attitude."

"Commented CELLADOR guitarist Chris Petersen: "We are very proud and excited to be welcomed to the Metal Blade family. With its current roster and unprecedented history of dedication and integrity, it is with great honor and gratitude that we have been chosen and given the opportunity to represent true American melodic speed metal on one of the biggest labels in the world of metal. Their past success and dedication is only a greater source of inspiration now for us to press forth with pushing true metal to its extreme. Look out for us!!"

"CELLADOR are currently writing and rehearsing for their debut Metal Blade release, tentatively due in the spring. To check out some of the band's songs, head over to their MySpace page here.

"In other news, CELLADOR are currently auditioning for the position of lead guitar and keyboard player. The individual must excel in playing both lead and rhythm at slow to often very energetic speeds, and must also have and maintain a committed, motivated, and cooperative personality that benefits the band as a whole. The band would prefer a young and energetic individual between the ages of 18-24 who is able and willing to travel, and with a large background in metal. If interested, send an e-mail with your name and past band experience to contact@cellador.com for more information."

Hahaha. I couldn't resist! The first thing that popped into my head was "Cellar Door? What kind of shitty name is that?" Hahaha.

Actually I think Cellador derived from Celladoor. They actually used to spell it that way.

When did the band start? If they were like 16 years old, they probably thought Celladoor was "spooky" or something.

My first band—at 14 years of age—was called X-WOLF, so I'd completely understand! Hahahaha!

Actually, Chris Petersen explained the name origin in an interview with the Metal Obsrever.

So as most people never have heard of CELLADOR before, could you tell us a bit about the history of the band and also where the band name came from?

The name CELLADOR has quite a spontaneous and hardly interesting background to it unfortunately. I was on the old music website MP3.com signing up for an account to display my music on and when the field came up where it asks what the band name is, I just randomly entered CELLADOOR and yes the two O's was the original spelling. I had thought about the word before and always thought it sounded pretty epic, or Power Metalish at the least. It’s in part referenced by Edgar Allen Poe, who believed it to be a unique and beautiful combination of words, Cellar and Door. I thought it would be cool to make a new word out of it, something unique that wouldn't be confused with anyone else. Keep in mind this all happened before the band was formed, sometime around early 2003 I think.

There's an mp3 of this band on my computer, and I have no idea where it came from. The name of the file is "CELLADOR-Progeny2.mp3," and I haven't got a clue what the name of the actual song is. It's friggin good though.

It's an instrumental, 7:20 long, if anyone can do me a favor and identify it.

Could be that "X Japan" song that was mentioned. It's on the site, check it out.

no, they covered Silent Jealousy (just like Sonata Arctica), not progeny whatever, unless it is misnamed cuz Silent Jealousy runs at around 7:20...

AHAH X-Wolf... a better name for a power metal band is "Magic Missile"
