I know this isnt metal, but man, I've been listening to the soundtrack for the movie and its fucking awesome! I can't stop listening to it, it hearkens back to an age of heroisim and makes me long for a time when people had principles that actually meant something.......like destroying the cult of thulsa doom (President Bush). Hope the CIA isnt reading this. |

HAHA! yeah I love that soundtrack. Especially the title track. "Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom." |

Yeah ha ha. It seems like Conan the Barbarian is the sole inspiration for Manowar. |

I don't think I've ever met a single person who didn't like that soundtrack... hard to find it for sale anymore around here though. The sad thing to note is that if they made a Conan movie now, the soundtrack would probably be filled up with a lot of lame nu-metal bands. |

Awesome sound track. The opening song during the raid on the village is absolutely fantastic. My only complaint is the DVD has never been released in 5.1 sound. Still sounds great in 2.0 though. |

One of the best, no doubt. Given the subject matter, style and that fact many metal bands have intros in a similiar vein I think this classifies as something like metal's cousin. Some other 'metal' soundtracks I like - 13th Warrior First Knight Bram Stoker's Dracula The Mummy and The Mummy Returns (more power metal) and the obvious.. Gladiator LOTR (all three) |

A supreme soundtrack....makes you want to grab your broadsword and kill some ravenous wolves so you can make a new coat. |

I think the main problem is that the movie company doesn't want to pony up the money to do the 5.1 remix. The Conan movies really only sell to a niche market, so the people who want the DVDs will buy them whether or not it's the original stereo or a 5.1 soundtrack. It would be awesome in 5.1 though... Another "cult" movie I'd like to hear in 5.1 is John Woo's Hardboiled. It's originally in mono, though I saw recently that a new 5.1 mix came out. The battle music is great in that too, though not epic and majestic as in Conan the Barbarian. |

13th Warrior is an awesome movie based on a shitty book! Go figure! The lead viking always reminded me of Robert Lowe from Solitude Aeturnus for some reason! Hahahaha. |

That movie was lame. And so is Antonio Banderas. I respect Michael Crichton though. |
